Rado MKT & Cafe debuts at the Historic Eldorado Ballroom

We stopped by @radomarkethtx in the heart of Houston’s Third Ward . Located at 2310 Elgin Blvd and directly adjacent to the historic and prestigious Eldorado Ballroom. The food which is prepared by non other than Chef Chris Williams (also of Lucille's and Netflix's High on the Hog ) certainly lives up to

the legacy of its namesake.

Warm and welcoming as well as quiet and quaint are the vibes of Rado MKT & Cafe. As one enters, the views of a charming book collection and seated area catch the eye and the aromas of fresh brewed gourmet coffee + delicious culinary creations tickle your nose. Not to mention, the staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. But what is it that sets the Rado MKT apart besides its legacy , location, great food (which we haven't even mentioned yet) and views? The market sources many local vendors such as KiK's BBQ Sauce (@kiksbbq) , Sea Moss Gel from Houston's Sea Moss Queen (@houstonseamossqueen), weekly ice cream selections for PLK 1848 (@plk1848) , books from Kindred Stories (@kindredstories), and pickled goods from Lucille's (@lucilleshouston). Other items available include a wide selection of canned and bottled drinks as well as snacks and seasonings from various vendors.

Rado MKT & Cafe offers a very minimalist menu in terms of the number of offerings, however the complex flavors and remix on what would be considered "classic" dishes do not disappoint. We ordered the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich and Oxtail Smash Burger. Both extremely flavorful and dressed with fresh arugula , tomato jam, and aioli. One with a spicy aioli, ricotta cheese, and pickled onions and the other a garlic aioli, provolone cheese, and sandwiched between a brioche bun , respectively. Other popular offerings include a Grilled Cheese & Gumbo featuring a famous "Green Gumbo" as well as the Blodgett Harvest which is vegan friendly.
